Family devotional time is a special way to bring everyone together, strengthen faith, and create moments that children will carry with them for life. Today’s devotion focuses on God’s creation of animals and our responsibility as humans to care for them.
Scripture Reading:
Genesis 1:24–26 (NIV)
“Then God said, ‘Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.’ … Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’”Discussion Questions:
What kinds of animals has God placed in our lives? Which ones bring you joy?
How do you think God wants us to care for the animals around us?
What can we learn about God by watching how animals live, play, and love?

Activity:
Take a few minutes as a family to list the animals you’ve seen this week—pets, birds, squirrels, even bugs. Talk about how each one has a role in God’s creation.
Prayer:
“Lord, thank You for creating the animals that make our world beautiful and full of life. Help us to care for them with kindness and to always remember that You’ve trusted us with this responsibility. Amen.”
By bringing scripture, conversation, and prayer together, your family devotional time becomes a meaningful way to connect faith to daily life.
